This remarkable silver medallion is a tribute to the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing in 1969. The medallion's design is adapted from the actual sterling silver Robbins medals carried by the three astronauts on the history-making voyage. The 100 mm diameter medal was struck from 50 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver by the Sunshine Mint, featuring a dramatic antiqued finish achieved from the application of a solution containing authentic space-flown material.
Sensational Design Details

"APOLLO 11" is inscribed on the obverse, above an eagle poised to land on the moon's surface. The Earth is depicted beyond, plated with space-flown gold.

The reverse features "ARMSTRONG-COLLINS-ALDRIN" and "50th ANNIVERSARY" inscribed around the Apollo 11 mission dates, with "1969-2019" below. The medal's smooth edge is inscribed "50 OZ 999 AG."
