Medals issued by AMCOS-Association of Museums of Cosmonautics for display in the Russian Space Museums (not distributed to the public). They were designed by A.Zavaluyev. Limited minted at Moscow mint during 1992-1994 period. First medals minted in 1992, the International Year of Space, included: Yuri Gagarin-First man in cosmos medal depicting Gagarin next to the landedVostok capsulew/parachute, 12 April, 1961. Medal commemorating first man on the Moon Neil Armstrong Medal commemorating the genius pioneers and space vehicles architects Korolev andV.Braun. In 1994 the large medal depicting Yuri Gagarin was additionally issued by AMCOS for space museums. Original exclusives came directly from President of AMCOS- cosmonaut #4 Pavel Romanovich. Pavel Popovich who helped with acquiring these medals which later Yuri Malenchenko took on board the Soyuz TMA-2(Launched April 26, 2003) to the ISS. Returned on board the Discovery (STS-114), which returned the medals from the station in August 2005 (2 years and 3 months total flown time in space).
